Group Term Life, Accidental Death & Dismemberment (“AD&D”), Voluntary Employee/Spouse/Child Life and/or Supplemental AD&D Insurance

The College provides group term life and accidental death & dismemberment insurance to all benefit eligible employees (.5 FTE position and greater) thru Symetra Life Insurance Company. The amount of life insurance at any date is one and a half times the faculty or staff member's annual base salary (rounded up to the next thousand), to a maximum of $200,000.

Employees also have the option to purchase Voluntary Employee/Spouse/Child life and/or Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance.  Please refer to the Benefits Guidebook for amounts that can be purchased and applicable rates based on applicable ages for covered insureds.

 As a benefits eligible employee enrolled in Symetra Group Life and Disability Income Insurance from Symetra Life Insurance Company and First Symetra National Life Insurance Company of New York, you have access to the The Symetra Value Add Program at no cost to you.  This includes Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with Will Preparation, Health Care Navigation, Travel Assistance Program, Identity Theft Program, and Beneficiary Companion Program.  Please click here to learn more about these benefits.
