Welcome to Swarthmore College. This Staff Handbook was written to answer some of the questions you may have about the College and its policies. Please read it thoroughly and retain it for future reference.

The policies stated in this handbook, along with all other policies, procedures, benefits, and other programs are subject to change. From time to time you may receive updated information concerning changes in policy. For the most current information, please check the Human Resources website. If you have any questions regarding any policies, please ask your supervisor or any member of Human Resources for assistance.

Either you or Swarthmore College may terminate the relationship at any time, for any reason, with or without cause or notice. Please understand that no supervisor, manager, or other representative of Swarthmore College, other than the president, provost, or vice president of Human Resources has the authority to enter into any agreement with you for employment for any specified period of time or to make any promises or commitments contrary to the foregoing. Further, any employment agreement entered into by the president, provost, or vice president of human resources shall not be enforceable unless it is in a formal written agreement and signed by you and one of these designated Swarthmore College officials.
