Campus Waste Stations and Bins

You may have noticed our innovative waste stations around campus, which we have significantly streamlined from 39 models to two. Visit our Waste Disposal Guide for a more comprehensive list of disposal instructions for commonly used items.

Waste Stations for Compost, Recycling, and Trash

The two waste stations pictured below are installed throughout common areas on campus. Alongside the waste signage, they are meant to easily guide you through how to dispose of commonly used items and be a clear, consistent, and recognizable presence on campus.

Waste stations can currently be found in public spaces and many lounges across campus, with additional stations being added on a yearly basis.

Trash Buddy

The “trash buddy” bin set is intended for individuals’ desks, replacing your normal size trash can with a tiny one that attaches to your recycling can. When these bins are full, you simply bring your waste to your nearest waste station. Trash buddies encourage community members to both recycle and be generally more conscious about the waste they generate. It also saves the EVS team time and reduces the use of trash bin liners, since the small buddy bins are unlined.

This system is in the piloting stage, but we encourage more interested departments to contact us!
