Regional Zero Waste Campus Collaboration

Swarthmore College’s Zero Waste Working group recently launched a Regional Zero Waste Campus Collaboration (RZWCC) with schools across Delaware County and the neighboring areas. This collaboration is meant to connect local colleges and universities in the region, many of whom send their waste directly to the incinerator in Chester. This collaboration meets regularly throughout the academic year and allows staff working closely with waste management and operations from across these schools to connect on zero waste initiatives and policies, share information about waste education, and leverage combined power to create change within each campus and regionally.

The 2023-2024 representatives from Swarthmore College for the RZWCC are:

  • Clare Hyre, Associate Director of Sustainability
  • Chip Proctor, EVS Manager of Administration
  • Brendan Carr, Sustainability & Engaged Scholarship Fellow
