Barclays, Investment Banking, M&A

Since graduating in 2019, I have been working at Barclays in NYC on the M&A team. Our focus is on the efficient sale / purchase of a particular business / asset. Given the transformational nature of these transactions, the process can last upwards of a year and involves senior management. I think my math degree at Swarthmore sharpened my critical thinking skills to be able to quickly analyze situations. It also taught me how to be comfortable working through situations where I was unsure of the right answer. I landed my job at Barclays from a connection made at a Tri-Co finance event my senior year.
