Swarthmore Problem Solvers

Love problem-solving?  Then sign up for the Putnam!

The William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition is the preeminent mathematics competition for undergraduate college students in the United States and Canada. The competition consists of two 3-hour sessions. During each session, participants work individually on 6 challenging mathematical problems. Because of the coronavirus crisis, this year’s Putnam Competition was rescheduled for Saturday, February 20. The competition will proceed in unofficial mode. Students will take the exam themselves on an online platform and upload their solution papers for grading. Although there are no national prizes this year, Swarthmore will recognize all students who participate.
