Philosophy, Politics & Economics

Department Overview

Philosophy, Politics & Economics (PPE) is a course of study that brings together three of the most prominent approaches to understanding the social world with the aim of integrating their insights and thereby giving students the skills and understanding required to bring about positive change. It is justly renowned for training future public servants and politicians, not to mention academics.

PPE encourages students to consider the social and political reality using the approaches of the three constituent disciplines. It therefore teaches students to approach real-world problems from different angles without sacrificing intellectual rigor or integrity — and to build skills that are transferable across a variety of professional contexts.
