First math class at Swarthmore: MATH 015

What was your favorite math class and why? My favorite math class so far has been MATH 034: Multivariable Calculus. I enjoyed how the course incorporated visual elements and explored objects in higher dimensions that are difficult to conceptualize. I also really enjoyed STAT 021, where I learned to use regression modeling to uncover relationships between variables.

Why did you become a math major?  I chose to major in math because the professors in the department are incredibly supportive and encouraging. I also believe that a strong foundation in mathematics opens up opportunities in many different fields.

How do you expect to use your mathematics after leaving Swarthmore? I hope to combine math with technology and design in my future career, possibly in data science or user research design.

What advice do you have for an incoming student? Go to office hours and take advantage of the Pirate and Clinician sessions!
