Gospel Choir

Swarthmore College's Gospel Choir performs in Lang Concert Hall.

The Swarthmore College Gospel Choir welcomes all students to explore the rich worship and emotion of gospel music. Meeting one night a week with a coach for two hours at the Black Cultural Center, the semester concludes with a performance in beautiful Lang Concert Hall. Gospel Choir is a Fetter Chamber Music Program ensemble within the Department of Music and Dance. Participants may enroll for one-half credit or no credit. Prior musical experience is a plus but is not a requirement. Additional performances and community outreach are encouraged. Recent repertoire has included Fred Hammond's “I Will Trust”, Michelle Williams' “Say Yes”, Kirk Franklin's “Always”, Martha Munizzi's “Because of Who You Are” and “Oh Happy Day” by Edwin Hawkins. If you are interested in joining the Gospel Choir, please email Andrew Hauze or Jenny Honig.
