Lunch Hour Concert Series

Jasper String Quartet performs in Parrish Parlor for a Lunch Hour Concert

In addition to our robust performance calendar in the Lang Concert Hall, Swarthmore Music is proud to feature student, faculty, and professional musicians in our informal Lunch Hour Concert Series in Parrish Parlor. This series typically starts at the second month of classes and continues through the end of each semester on Monday afternoons at 12:30pm. Information about how to sign up for the Lunch Hour Concert Series is sent to music students at the beginning of each semester.

Lunch Hour Concerts provide a space for the music community at Swarthmore to experiment with performance techniques, try out new pieces, and preview works which might later be performed in a more formal setting. Parish Parlor, located in Parrish Hall, is the heart of Swarthmore's campus and experiences heavy foot traffic at midday. The sounds of the musicians invite students, faculty, and staff walking through Parrish to pause for a moment and enjoy an intimate live performance. Whether you stay for the whole concert, or just drop by on your way to class, it’s a great way to get some inspiration and take a break from your busy day.

These concerts are always free and open to the public. For more information on upcoming Lunch Hour Concerts, please visit Swarthmore Music's Concerts & Events page.

Swarthmore College encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities.
