Chinese Music Ensemble
The Chinese Music Ensemble, co-directed by Guowei Wang and Lei Ouyang Bryant, performs traditional and contemporary music from different regions of China and the Chinese Diaspora. Students perform on traditional Chinese instruments including the guzheng (zither), erhu (bowed fiddle), pipa (plucked lute), yangqin (hammered dulcimer), dizi (flute), and percussion. The ensemble has no prerequisites and is open to students with OR without prior Chinese musical experience. Students with no prior musical experience (of any tradition) are welcome to attend our first rehearsal and discuss your interests with the directors. Weekly rehearsals are on Tuesdays from 4:30-6:30 PM in Lang Music Building Room 415, plus an additional 30 minutes per week in smaller groups (“sectional”), day and time TBA. For more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Fall 2019: For more information, please email Prof. Lei Ouyang Bryant or just come to the first rehearsal on Tuesday, September 3rd at 4:30 pm.
