Weekly Testing to Resume for Residential Students

Dear Fall Residential Students,

As you hopefully saw yesterday in Dean Terhune’s message about the College’s COVID-19 cases, we are reinstituting a weekly testing program for all residential students due to the increase in students who have tested positive.

The testing group you’ve been assigned to — Group A, B, C, or D — will remain the same for our return to weekly testing. For example, if you were in Group A for the past month, you will remain in group A for this next phase of testing. We will also offer pre-travel testing prior to the end of the in-person residential period on November 20th.

Due to recent studies and consultation with our infectious disease specialist, if you tested positive for COVID-19 more than three months ago, you will now be required to participate in the student testing program.

The schedule for weekly student testing and pre-travel testing is outlined below.

I am grateful for your continued flexibility and willingness to participate in the student testing program. As a reminder, COVID-19 testing is an important component of our COVID-19 mitigation plan, but testing alone will not protect you against this virus. It is important to remember to wear your mask at all times when outside of your own room, wash your hands often, avoid touching your face or eyes, and maintain a minimum of 6’ physical distance from those around you. This is a difficult and trying time for all of us, and I appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate through it together.

Sincerely,

Casey Anderson
