Title IX and College-Defined Sexual Misconduct Policy & Procedures

Please Note: On December 10, 2021 the Department of Education expressed its intent to change the existing Title IX regulations enacted in May 2020. The Department anticipates issuing a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) by April 2022. Since the new regulations, when passed, would likely require revision of Swarthmore College's Policy and Procedures, the Title IX Office will continue to implement the 2020-21 Policy and Procedures and will revise the Policy and Procedures in accordance with any changes to the Title IX regulations that are passed following this 2022 NPRM.

This policy prohibits all forms of sexual misconduct, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, indecent exposure, intimate-partner violence, dating violence and domestic violence, retaliation, stalking, and other misconduct that is sex or gender based, or in the context of an intimate partner relationship including: bullying and intimidation, physical assault, and discrimination.
