Madalina Meirosu specializes in comparative approaches to nineteenth-century political and social thought in German literature.  She also has expertise in contemporary migration literature, the Medical Humanities, and Women and Gender Studies.  Her current research project explores the political undertones of nineteenth-century literature featuring artificial humanoids.

Sunka Simon's research focuses on the intersections of gender, race, and place in postwar German popular culture. She is the author of the book Mail-Orders: The Fiction of Letters in Postmodern Culture (2002) and eighteen scholarly articles on German literature, film and popular German culture. She is currently working on a manuscript entitled Euro-Eyes: Regionalism and Globalization in German TV Formats.
