Fulbright Scholar Program
Fulbright Visiting Scholar Dr. Ramina Abilova delivers a lecture supported by an Outreach Lecturing Fund award
THE FULBRIGHT U.S. SCHOLAR program 2024-2025 COMPETITION IS NOW OPEN. The application deadline is September 15, 2023, 11:59 pm PST.
The Fulbright Scholar Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. Participating governments and host institutions, corporations, and foundations around the world also provide direct and indirect support to the Program, which operates in over 160 countries worldwide.
View the “Fulbright Scholar Program Opportunities” presentation [pdf] given by a Fulbright representative at Swarthmore College as part of Sponsored Programs’ first Fulbright Day, which included a lunchtime discussion featuring Betsy Bolton (Morocco), José-Luis Machado (Colombia), and Allen Kuharski (Poland) as well as one-on-one sessions for Swarthmore faculty.
Fulbright now has more flexible award options and there are opportunities to bring scholars to campus through the Outreach Lecturing Fund (OLF) even if you do not meet the U.S. eligibility requirements for the scholar programs. Swarthmore received an OLF award to host Dr. Ramina Abilova from Russia.
