Grants & Awards Office

The Grants and Awards Office supports Swarthmore College's grant seeking and grant administration efforts. The G&A Office consists of two functions: Sponsored Programs and Institutional Relations. We also work closely with the Office of Research Integrity and Engagement and the Controller's Office.

Sponsored Programs supports faculty members for all pre- and post-award activities related to individual faculty research projects. Staff members in SP help faculty find opportunities, prepare proposals, ensure compliance with appropriate regulations, and prepare reports.

Institutional Relations supports all pre- and post-award activities for other grant-supported projects at the College, including programs originating from the Libraries, Athletics, Facilities, and other offices. IR also supports projects spanning multiple academic departments and programs.

Sponsored Programs connects Swarthmore College and its faculty with funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations and other philanthropic institutions that have a shared interest in the research, scholarly, and creative activity of individual faculty members.

Sponsored Programs

Institutional Relations helps Swarthmore to secure external support for broad-based College initiatives. The office works with external collaborators such as foundations, corporations, non-profits, and public funding agencies to support faculty, curriculum, or program development affecting many different aspects of the College's operations.
