S. Brooke Vick, Ph.D., Vice President
S. Brooke Vick, Ph.D., serves as the inaugural vice president for diversity, equity, and inclusion at Swarthmore. In this role, she leads institutional strategy, vision, and assessment of Swarthmore’s goals to develop and maintain a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming college community that supports belonging and equitable access for everyone. As a member of President’s Staff, Brooke provides leadership to the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion which includes the Equal Opportunity Officer and Title IX, and works in close partnership with the Office of Inclusive Excellence, the Provost’s Office, Human Resources, and all areas of the College to coordinate and align mission-driven initiatives supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Alison Berk, Ed.D., Director of Equity and Inclusion, Equal Opportunity Officer
Alison Berk, Ed.D., serves as the director of equity and inclusion/equal opportunity officer at Swarthmore. In this role, she is responsible for supporting efforts to build and maintain a diverse, welcoming, and inclusive campus environment by overseeing the College’s discrimination and harassment reporting, response and education initiatives. This includes ensuring that the College is compliant with all laws and requirements related to discrimination and harassment, collaborating with on and off campus partners to deliver relevant training and education, and coordinating restorative practices and other alternative resolutions meant to address harm while building a culture of accountability and inclusion. Matt Walsh, M.Ed., Title IX Coordinator
Matt Walsh began as Swarthmore’s Title IX coordinator in July 2025. In this role, Matt coordinates and provides education, training, and support for all members of the campus community to prevent and respond to incidents of sexual violence, harassment, and other forms of gender-based inequity at the College. He also coordinates the College’s response and investigation of Title IX complaints and maintains responsibility for aligning College policy with federal laws. Devon Johnson, M.Ed., Administrative Coordinator
Devon Johnson has been the administrative coordinator for Swarthmore’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion since July 2024. In this position, she supports the vice president with scheduling meetings, organizing events, managing the budget, and all other administrative tasks. Devon also assists the Equal Opportunity Officer and Title IX Coordinator as needed. Devon earned her B.S. in criminal justice from West Chester University and recently her M.Ed. from Pennsylvania State University. Read Devon's bio.
