Vision & Strategic Priorities
Our Vision
We strive for a Swarthmore where every member of the community is trusted, valued, and equipped with the resources to contribute their diverse talents and experiences to a collective and connected Swarthmore.
Strategic Priorities
Our work is grounded in the Swarthmore Forward strategic plan and the College's enduring values of intellectual engagement, creative exploration, and the pursuit of the common good within a diverse community. We focus our efforts across three primary areas:
- Culture: We support a culture of welcome and belonging by offering opportunities to develop skills for respectful communication and intergroup dialogue across our diverse campus. By overseeing institutional culture and climate goals, we use data-driven actions to assess progress and inform priorities.
- Community: We partner with faculty, staff, and students to provide educational and professional development that increases the understanding and behaviors that promote a welcoming campus experience for everyone and support restoration of community when ruptures occur.
- Access and Equity: We protect free and fair access to all of Swarthmore’s programs and services through policy review and enforcement, ensuring that equity and inclusion are lived experiences for every member of our community.
