Move-In Information

Below is a message sent by Amanda Atkinson, Director of Residential Communities, in regards to important move-in information!

---

Good morning!

Have you packed your shower caddy? Do you have your Target list all checked off? More importantly, are you following Swat_OSE for room tours, move-in advice, resident assistant and orientation leader profiles, and so much more? You've still got a few more weeks to get it all finished, but I bet you are as excited to move in as we are to have you.

As you prepare for arrival, I wanted to reach out with some important information and final reminders about move-in for new students.

Moving into your Residence Hall

New students move-in Tuesday, August 29 between 8 am-12 noon. Members of the Class of 2027 and new transfer students who are NOT sponsored early returns should complete this move-in reservation formWhen you arrive, please go directly to your residence hall. There will be lots of signs and people to point you in the right direction.

When you arrive at your residence hall, volunteers will be available to help assist you with checking in and collecting your key. Please plan on unloading your vehicle at your residence hall and then moving your car to the Cunningham South Lot. The spaces closest to the residence halls are available for loading and unloading only.

If you are arriving by Uber/Lyft or taking public transportation, please review this page for additional information for traveling to campus.

If you will need to travel more than just a few hours to get to campus, you may wish to arrive on the 28th and stay in off-campus lodging. Some general travel information and local accommodation links can be found here

Students participating in a pre-orientation program will get arrival information from their program sponsor.

Orientation Schedule, OneCard, and SEPTA Pass Pick-Up

After getting your key and moving into your residence hall, please proceed to Parrish Hall to collect your OneCard, mailbox key, Orientation instructions, and activate your free SEPTA pass (SEPTA is what the public transit system in the Greater Philadelphia area is called). As you think about orientation, I encourage you to check out this helpful video from Rebecca Weintraub-Barth our Director of Student Activities and Leadership.

Before you know it

Although it seems like ages from now, please note that residence halls close for the fall semester on December 23. All students will need to depart campus by that date (you don't need to pack up your room, just your suitcase). For a full review of the residence hall opening and closing dates, review our Housing Calendar site. Please feel free to share this information with your family or anyone who might assist you with planning each year.

We are truly so excited for your arrival. Do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
