The Intercultural Center team offers a collection of LGBTQ+ training and educational opportunities for faculty, staff, and students centered around the Foundation and Intersections of LGBTQ+ students on campus. In Spring of 2018, these trainings began with Pronoun 101, which was offered at a variety of levels including open community discussions, peer-led student trainings, and faculty and staff department trainings.  

Swarthmore QUeer Advocate Development (SQUAD) delivers skills-based, educational opportunities for the Swarthmore community, while centering the philosophy that advocacy is a continuous process that looks different for everyone. Participants have the ability to personalize their learning to meet their own goals as an advocate and track their engagement through the Intercultural Center.

Courses being offered will be broken up into two sections: Foundations and Intersections.  To sign up for Intersections courses, one must first complete Foundations or test out by filling out this quiz:

  • Queer and Trans Students of Color
  • DACA and undocumented LGBTQ+ Students

  • Interpersonal Violence in LGBTQ+ Relationships
  • LGBTQ+ Affirming Health Practices
