Greetings from the Chair
It is hard to find the undergraduate engineering program that best fits your needs. At Swarthmore you will receive a world-class liberal arts education on a beautiful campus, as well as a rigorous technical education resulting in a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Our program gives you the opportunity to tailor your program to your own interests, including the possibility of a double major, a minor, or simply a broad selection of liberal arts courses. Whether your own career goals may point toward employment or graduate school (a third to a half of our engineers immediately pursue advanced degrees in engineering, business, medicine or law), an Engineering degree from Swarthmore will allow you to realize them.
If this sounds appealing to you, please take some time to browse around our web site. On the web site you will find answers to commonly asked questions on our FAQ page, an opportunity to ask questions of students and/or faculty, and directions for how to set up a visit with us. The FAQ page has answers to such questions as, "What do your graduates do?" and "What is your curriculum like?" We also have a directory of faculty members; you should feel free to visit their web pages and send them email. Feel free to look around and contact us. On the web site you will also find detailed information about our program and course offerings, as well as descriptions of various projects in which students and faculty are involved.
If you are the kind of student who is looking for an excellent Engineering education while also pursuing other interests, I think you will find our program very interesting. If you would like more information, I invite you to contact us.
Good luck on your search for the college that is right for you.
