Academic Support

Students in lab

Welcome to Engineering Academic Support!

Students in Engineering courses have several ways of getting formal support in their courses; professor office hours, weekly Wizard Sessions, and individual tutoring

  • Office hours should be scheduled with your professor directly using the information provided in their course syllabus.
  • Wizard Sessions are an opportunity to work on assigned problem sets with your peers and with trained and experienced course Wizards. You may also get assistance with general course material beyond assigned problem sets at Wizard Session. You can find the Wizard Session schedule here and posted throughout Singer Hall.
  • Individual tutoring is provided through the Dean's Office. It is offered at no cost to students who demonstrated a need for help with Engineering courses over and above the resources provided by the department. Tutors are upperclass students who have been recommended by the Engineering faculty to serve in this capacity. Tutors meet with students for one hour a week for a maximum of 10 weeks. Students may apply for a tutor by filling out this form or going in person to Parrish East 108.
