McCabe Scholars
In the spirit of Thomas B. McCabe’s devotion to the nourishment and development of character, community, and curiosity, the McCabe Scholars cultivate leadership through intentional action, mentorship, and service in commitment to a better world.
In 1952, Thomas B. McCabe, Class of 1915, established the McCabe Achievement Award to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, character, and leadership, especially in service to their school and community. Today, this four-year, full-tuition scholarship is awarded annually to at least two incoming students from the Delmarva Peninsula, two from Southeastern Pennsylvania, and three from the rest of the United States. The McCabe Scholarship is also available to at least one transfer student, and one international student for whom the award meets their full determined financial need.
McCabe Scholars join a vibrant community of campus leaders and engaged alumni who are committed to making a positive impact. While students, McCabe scholars get focused advising and resources from the Center for Innovation and Leadership, learn from the McCabe Lecture, and connect through the McCabe luncheon. After graduation, McCabe scholars stay connected to share successes and give and receive support, becoming the realization of Thomas McCabes' vision of leadership and service
