A word cloud generated from students' feedback after the CIL@SF trip.

Innovation at Swarthmore takes place every day - in both large and small ways.

The CIL can help students to foster their own innovative ideas into something more than a thought bubble. Mentorship programs like SwatTank provide students the opportunity to take their idea in front of Swarthmore's impressive crew of Alumni entrepreneurs in a conference-style presentation in front of an audience. The inaugural CIL@SF trip, taken during the final week on winter break, is a great opportunity to meet the innovators of the tech industry in Silicon Valley and San Francisco. Even students on campus make innovative decisions every day, from discovering the best dining hall concoction to finding the perfect work-study room.

The CIL is also increasingly active in the Philadelphia area. By creating ties with the Philadelphia entrepreneurial community, the CIL can link students to small start-ups companies in Philadelphia, mentors in the local start-up world, and other incubating centers. We have established relationships with CampusPhilly, PhiladelphiaStartUpLeaders, UPStart at UPENN, and many more organizations designed to help the innovators within the Swarthmore student body.
