Inclusive Culture Certification

The Inclusive Culture Certification offers Swarthmore College community members—students, staff, and faculty—a flexible yet rigorous intellectual experience. This certification is open to any member of the Swarthmore College Community - past or present and can be completed in as little as 2 months. 

The curriculum draws on the expertise of Swarthmore professionals across three integrated pillars, each designed to move participants from foundational knowledge to sustained, relational practice. Participants will

• deepen cultural literacy, awareness and competency;
• build empathy and promote meaningful dialogue across differences; and
• explore and develop concepts and skills of effective allyship.

The certification achieves these learning outcomes through  asynchronous pre-recorded workshop content, attending live DEI-related on and off-campus events, and real-time in-person or virtual skills practice. To receive the distinction of certification, participants must complete all program requirements within four (4) consecutive semesters or twenty-four (24) consecutive months (but it may be completed sooner).
