Dear Student,

Congratulations, Swattie! We are thrilled that you are a member of the Class of 2029 and excited to welcome you to the Swarthmore community.

Your time at Swarthmore will prepare you for a life of purpose by helping you develop and hone your critical and creative thinking, curiosity, and ability to engage with ideas and perspectives that differ from your own, with empathy and an appreciation for our shared humanity. We know you will take advantage of the opportunities waiting for you here and allow yourself to explore this expansive education with wonder and joy. To receive all that you can from your college experience, expect to be challenged, and be ready to embrace moments of change, discomfort, and growth.

You’re going to hear a lot from us over the next few months as we help prepare you for the start of this incredible time in your life. For now, we hope that you will take time to celebrate all that you have accomplished with your friends and family.
