Phoenix Phriends Peer Mentoring Program
Intercultural Center's Mentor-Mentee Program

The Phoenix Phriends is a peer-mentoring program designed for Swarthmore College students from all cultures and communities with the emphasis of building cultural humility and cultural appreciation. Student participants will take part in a year-long program filled with the building of academic support, social support, and the identification and utilization of on-campus resources. The program consists of 2 components: the mentees (First Year and Sophomores) and mentors (Juniors and Seniors).
Mentors will benefit from the following:
- Increase in broader understanding of individual coaching through providing objective guidance and feedback
- Practice communication and time management skills while increasing leadership skills
Mentees will benefit from the following:
- Increase in a broader awareness of both on-campus and off-campus resources for academic, career, professional, and/or social success.
- Gain a stronger sense of self-actualization through connection with my mentor.
Applications:
Mentor Application (NOW OPEN)
(REQUIREMENT: Submitting the Mentor Monthly Tracking Report by the 1st of each month, be a Junior or Senior, attend the once a month activities)
Mentee Application (NOW OPEN)
(REQUIREMENT: Be a First-Year or Sophomore and attend the once a month activities)
Program Objectives
- Develop self-actualization for both mentors and mentees
- Assist in students identifying on-campus and off-campus resources from peers
- Develop leadership, communication, and coaching skills to help prepare students for their post-graduate endeavors
