FILMS FROM THE SMOG YEARS (FILMY Z EPOKI SMOGU, 2019)

Visiting Cornell Professors Barbara Wysocka and Michał Zadara Show Work in the European Independent Film Festival (ÉCU) in Paris

The work of Cornell Professors of Theater Michał Zadara and Barbara Wysocka will be shown as an official selection in the program of the European Independent Film Festival (ÉCU) in Paris from April 23-26, 2020, (via streaming transmission in France and Poland).  Their work, FILMS FROM THE SMOG  YEARS (FILMY Z EPOKI SMOGU, 2019), was shared with the campus in a faculty lunch and as part of Zadara’s Cornell Professor Lecture in November.  FILMS FROM THE SMOG YEARS is actually a compilation of three short films from a longer series of seven that all dramatize the realities of contemporary Polish life in the face of the worst air pollution anywhere in the European Union.  Co-written and co-directed by Wysocka and Zadara, the cast includes both of them and an impressive list of Poland's best contemporary stage and film actors.
