CASSANDRA: A New Premiere Opera

What if you knew what was going to happen and you couldn’t warn anyone?

“I know what I see

I say what I know

I never think, why bother, it’ll happen anyway. I always tell my truth.”

Please join us for the world-premiere of an opera based on the Greek myth of Cassandra, the cursed prophetess who spoke the truth but was never believed. “Cassandra” is a spare, stunning and devastatingly timely story of vision and resistance. With a libretto by Nathalie Anderson and a score by Thomas Whitman, K. Elizabeth Stevens directs and Shira Samuels-Shragg ’20 conducts an all-student cast and orchestra. Performances will be held in the Lang Concert Hall, December 6th at 8 PM and December 8th at 7:30 PM.
