Herodotus Histories Book 1

A much anticipated edition of Herodotus has now appeared: Swarthmore alumna Carolyn Dewald and Swarthmore professor Rosaria Vignolo Munson have just published their commentary on Book 1 of Herodotus' Histories. This 500+ page work joins a distinguished lineup of texts with commentaries in the Cambridge Greek and Latin Classics series, famous in the world of classics as "The Green and Yellows." If you know your Herodotus you will know how important and multifaceted the first book is, and this learned commentary will be appreciated by students and scholars alike. It is dedicated to their teachers and friends, the late Ron Stroud of UC Berkeley and the late Martin Ostwald of Swarthmore and Penn.   The Fragile Nature of Truth Still Resonates is a short interview with the authors.
