Swarthmore Chemistry Majors Win NSF Graduate Fellowships

Chem majors Jack Nicoludis and Mary Alice Upshur and Chem minor Rosalie Lawrence, all from the class of 2012, have been awarded NSF Graduate Fellowships.

Jack Nicoludis '12 won an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and a Department of Defense National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship.   Jack is a graduate student in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University where he is studying protein structure using X-ray crystallography. 

Mary Alice Upshur is currently attending Northwestern University and her field of study is Chemistry - Chemical Synthesis .  Rosalie Lawrence is currently attending Stanford University and her field of study is Life Sciences - Genetics.
