The Teaching Spotlight series highlights excellence in pedagogy at Swarthmore College.

Ben Geller is featured in our third Teaching Spotlight. Nominated by students who called him, "the best professor ever," Professor Geller is an Associate Professor of Physics and Director of the Swarthmore Summer Scholars Program and Coordinator of NSE Educational Support Initiatives, is "interested broadly in the relationship between physics and the life sciences, and in how curricula can be made coherent across these disciplines."

Students appreciate his "high expectations, high support" approach and how much care and knowledge he brings into the classroom.

Read on to learn about Geller's teaching philosophy in our April 2026 Teaching Spotlight.
