Reporting

The College encourages all community members to report prohibited conduct in order to access resources and support, and to maintain a safe campus environment. All community members are encouraged to immediately seek assistance from law enforcement, public safety, and/or a medical provider, as well as to report information regarding any incident of prohibited conduct to the Title IX Coordinator.

The Title IX Coordinator is charged with responding to allegations of sexual misconduct to stop the behavior, prevent its recurrence, and remedy its effects. The Title IX Office will coordinate the initial assessment, offer resources and support, and initiate an investigation when appropriate and/or requested. However, making a report does not automatically result in a formal complaint process, and a formal complaint does not need to be filed in order for an individual to receive supportive measures.

To learn more about what it means to make a report and how to access resources and support from our office, click the links in the dropdown menu to the left under Making a Report.

While the resources above were created for students seeking resources, the Title IX Office is also available to assist employees in making reports and filing formal complaints. Please reach out to the Title IX Coordinator, Bindu Jayne, at (610) 690-3720 or titleix@swarthmore.edu.

If you are required to report as a Responsible Employee, including designated student employees (RAs, SAMs, and SWATeam members), please review the Responsible Employee Primer for information on your reporting obligations and receiving disclosures.
