Strengthening adolescent-parent attachment both a) increases the likelihood that adolescents will seek parental support when feeling depressed or suicidal, and b) buffers against other stressors that may lead to suicide. Results from a recent clinical trial supporting the efficacy of Attachment Based Family Therapy (ABFT) will be presented as well as a video example of the therapy.
