What impact do you want to have on the world?

Whenever I receive my Ph.D. and become a professor, I hope to influence and change the lives of other Chicanx and Latinx students to achieve their dreams and goals at top institutions. I also hope to become a mentor in order to guide them in these dreams and goals to help change the world for the better.

Name a person you admire.

My mom.

What is something you are proud of in your life so far?

Being named a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow allowed me to take pride in the fact that my professors have noticed something in me that I have not noticed in myself.

What have been the most valuable Evans Scholars program experiences for you?
Definitely, the group trips to DC and NYC. These trips have allowed me to connect with the other scholars and get to know them more personally. They're also just a really fun time to get away and destress from Swarthmore.

What was the most transformative class you have taken and/or what subjects do you want to explore deeply?

Gender, Sexuality, and Social Change with Professor Atshan helped me gain interest in my current major, anthropology. This class was an amazing look at how gender and sexuality are theorized around the globe. I loved every moment of this class, and highly recommend it to everyone looking at Peace and Conflict Studies or Gender and Sexuality Studies.
