Aden Tetla '12 in Peru

Throughout their four years at Swarthmore Evans Scholars have access to opportunity grants that give them the freedom to construct a series of experiences that challenge them, help build skills and knowledge, and allow them to give back to Swarthmore and to communities in their own backyards or across the globe.

Sasha Wijeyeratne '12

Thanks to her Evans Opportunity Grant, Sasha Wijeyeratne '12 volunteered with a prison aid and reform organization organization in the city of Cochabamba, Bolivia, and took time to travel the country afterwards.

Angela Meng '12

Angela Meng '12 (front row, center), says, "When I went abroad over the summer for a human rights internship in Ghana, I really loved how the experience pushed me out of my comfort zone and forced me to explore so many different aspects of the world." The experience was made possible thanks to her Evans Scholarship.
