Maggie has made use of her Evans scholarship to pursue her love of black & white film photography and to travel to Costa Rica to work with an environmental group that protects turtle nesting ground — and to surf some great spots. This past summer she interned with Eyes of the World Media Group in Culver City, CA. At Swarthmore, Maggie has played varsity softball for all four years and has been involved with the Intercultural Center and Swarthmore Athlete Advisory Committee. She spent fall semester of her junior year in Madrid studying art and anthropology. She is currently writing her Sociology and Anthropology thesis on the image of the skull and the experience of Chicano artists in the American Southwest.
