Lizzy Stant, Voice

Soprano Lizzy Stant, from Dover, Delaware, graduated with her Bachelor of Art in Neuroscience from Swarthmore College and a Master of Music degree in Voice from New England Conservatory. Currently, she is a doctoral candidate at New York University studying Musical Theater Voice.
Her staged performances include opera, chamber works, musical theater, and new music. Recent works include Nancy Drew (Mrs. Blodgett), a new workshop of a musical by Alan Menken and Nell Benjamin, Messiah (soprano soloist), Monkey: a Puppet Parable Opera (Mother to Born in Prayer) with White Snake Projects, Spring Awakening (Thea) with Madison Lyric Stage, The Sound of Music (Sister Berta) with Franklin Performing Arts Company, Into the Woods (Rapunzel) with North End Music and Performing Arts Company, and Down in the Valley (Jennie) with Opera Go Lightly. This coming fall, she will originate the role of Ginny in a new musical, Iceworld. In her free time, she loves to play guitar and sing in the NYU Mariachi Violeta’s ensemble.
Lizzy is currently conducting research titled "Comparing Perception of Vocal Effort in High Treble Contemporary Musical Theater Singers Across Populations." A strong advocate for cross-genre vocal training, Lizzy integrates principles from neuroscience—including motor learning theory and mindfulness strategies—to guide students in discovering and consistently expressing the most authentic version of their unique voice with clarity and ease.
