Keiko Sato, Piano

Keiko Sato, who joined the faculty of The Curtis Institute of Music in 1987, received her Bachelor of Music degree from Curtis where she studied with Mieczyslaw Horszowski and Gary Graffman.  She also holds a Master of Music degree from The Yale School of Music where her teachers were Seymour Lipkin and Claude Frank. Ms. Sato is the First Prize Winner of the Manogue International Competition, the Golden West Young Artist Competition, and the Young Chopin Competition in New York, and has performed as soloist with several orchestras including the Charleston Symphony and The Symphony Orchestra of The Curtis Institute of Music. In addition to playing recitals throughout the United States, Canada and Japan, where she was born, Keiko Sato is an active chamber musician who also performs with members of The Philadelphia Orchestra.

Keiko Sato serves on the faculty of the Curtis Institute of Music and Swarthmore College.
