Joe Mass, Guitar

Joe Mass is a guitarist/ multi instrumentalist who hails from the Philadelphia area. He has served as Grammy Award winner Michael Sembello’s musical director (2003), has recorded and toured with R&R Hall of Fame Artist Bootsy Collins, jazz greats Jimmy Haslip, Randy Brecker, Jeff Lorber, Dave Weckl, and others.  Joe has toured with Jimmy Haslip and Jeff Lorber and Steve Pruitt (Snarky Puppy), Texas 2024, 2025.  

He signed with Bootzilla Records in 2022 (records unreleased)

Personal statement: “I love teaching what the student wants to learn.  I can focus on just about any genre."  Joe is glad to be back teaching at Swarthmore!
