Jason Long is a Philadelphia native and 38 year professional musician, arranger and music educator in the Philadelphia/New York/Washington DC area. In 1997, he received a B.A. Degree in Music Performance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. Jason has performed and recorded with numerous local and national acts during the past 35+ years as both a pianist and a bassist, including Bobby Caldwell, Wayne Newton, Janis Siegel, Arturo Sandoval, Debbie Gibson, Brian Bromberg, Will Lee, Andrew Neu and the Philly Pops Orchestra.
Since twelve years of age, Jason has performed over 9000 professional musical performances in both public and private venues and continues to be among the busiest and most in-demand musicians in the Philadelphia area. His classical training as well as his straight ahead jazz background form a foundation that Jason uses to display his wide diversity of musical genre.
Jason brings a practical and down-to-earth approach to jazz education and jazz theory and harmony, while balancing the creative with the academic.
