Doug Hirlinger, Percussion

Doug Hirlinger is a percussionist and composer raised in St. Louis and living in Philadelphia. He has toured throughout the United States and Europe and performed in such venues as Blue Note, Birdland, The Iridium, and 55 Bar in New York City. He attended the University of North Texas and graduated from Manhattan School of Music. Over the years Doug has been fortunate to have played with many world renowned musicians. The list includes: Stanley Jordan, Joel Frahm, Rudresh Mahanathapa, Luis Perdomo, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, The Philadelphia Orchestra and many more.

In drum set lessons, students will explore selected musical traditions, integrate the student’s music interests and current projects, strive to play meaningfully with others utilizing their current abilities, and work on fundamentals like technique, rhythmic studies, and time feel.
