Carol Briselli, Viola

Carol Briselli, Viola
Carol Briselli is an active free-lance violist in the Philadelphia area. She studied with Toby Appel and Sol Greitzer (former principal viola, NY Philharmonic) and received her MM in performance from Temple University. Carol was assistant principal violist for Opera Philadelphia for many years, and also has played with the Philadelphia Ballet, the Philly Pops and the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, among many other groups.
Having many years of experience in teaching has influenced Carol’s teaching philosophy, and the lessons are geared to each student’s needs. Choices of repertoire are made collaboratively, with students’ input counted heavily. In addition to teaching at Swarthmore College, Carol is an Affiliate Artist at Haverford and Bryn Mawr Colleges, and was Assistant Professor of Music at West Chester University. She coaches the viola sectionals at Haverford/Bryn Mawr Colleges and the Delaware County Youth Orchestra, and maintains a large private studio in her home in Glen Mills.
