Since December 2008, Swarthmore College has engaged in an extensive, productive consultative process with members of our community about the state of Swarthmore's finances. The Ad Hoc Financial Planning Group was formed in March 2009 and has been charged with developing and recommending budgetary plans to respond to the current economic crisis.
In addition to meetings held by the Ad Hoc group, there have been numerous faculty and staff discussions across academic and administrative departments since last December. All-Staff meetings, Let's Talk meetings, faculty meetings, and student fireside chats have also taken place and will continue for the duration of this semester.
As the Ad Hoc Financial Planning Group works to reach a set of conclusions to present to the Board at its December 2009 meeting, your ongoing participation and suggestions are most welcome. The following schedule of upcoming meetings indicates those places where the college's economic situation will be discussed. Meetings that are open to our community will appear on the Campus Calendar and we urge you to attend them. You can also, at any time, continue to share suggestions with members of the Ad Hoc group.
