Dining Center Reusables Program
If you are looking to take your food to go, you can check out a reusable container from the Dining Center! Swarthmore Dining has partnered with Fill it Forward to offer students, faculty, and staff members access to reusable containers through a simple process. This exciting program supports the College’s zero-waste goals, and reflects ongoing conversations with our students, faculty, and staff members to better understand our community’s needs. All students, faculty, and staff on a College meal plan are eligible to participate in this program, the program is available for all meals served in the Dining Center.
Please be aware that with the introduction of the Fill it Forward program, we will no longer be offering disposable takeout containers at the Dining Center. If you need any help with signing up for the program, please stop by and chat with one of our Dining team members.
Sign up for Fill it Forward
To sign up for this program, please take the following steps:
- Download the Fill it Forward app on your phone (search in your app store or fillitforward.com/app).
- Request a take-out container from the cashier the next time you visit the Dining Center, before swiping your card. The cashier will prompt you when you may swipe.
- Use the Fill it Forward app to scan the code on your take-out container and share the confirmation with the cashier. You may then collect the food you want to take out.
- To return your used container, scan the return barcode provided, as well as the sticker on your reusable container. Please inform the cashier and ensure that your transaction has been completed.
Once you return your container, you'll be able to check out another. Only one container is allowed per meal, but in case you forget to return one, you can have up to two containers checked out at any time.
Containers will be washed and sanitized by our certified machines, but you are encouraged to rinse your container before returning it.
