Fall 2021 Student Testing Program

Based on recent guidance from the CDC and given the latest increase in the prevalence of the Delta variant among our county, beginning Tues., Sept. 7,  regular COVID-19 testing will be required for all students, regardless of vaccination status. The intent is for this to be a temporary measure; once transmission rates drop in our area, we will reevaluate our testing protocols. The only case in which a student would be exempt from this testing program is if that student has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 90 days. Students in this position should contact Casey Anderson, director of Student Health and Wellness, at canders4@swarthmore.edu, and will be required to provide documentation.

Please note that the College may update testing protocols at any time depending on how the circumstances around COVID-19 evolve. We will do so in consultation with our own and external public health and medical experts.

Setting up an Aura account

Tests will be managed by our testing partner, GENETWORx. All students must have an account on their scheduling platform called Aura. Many students who were on campus in spring 2021 will already have an Aura account set up. For those who do not, you can create an Aura account, by going to this registration page. Once you are registered, you may login and schedule your appointment for testing. If you are having any Aura account difficulties, please contact our Genetworx Site Manager, Josh Zegel at jzegel@genetworx.com.

Scheduling Your Testing Appointments

If you are 17 years old or older, you will be able to test with GENETWORx. You will be required to have parental consent signed annually until you turn 18. Once you have set up an account, take the following steps to schedule your appointment that week:

  1. Click on the Menu button at the top right side of your screen.
  2. Choose the option Schedule.
  3. For location, choose Swarthmore College and schedule an appointment time for the appropriate day—be mindful of scheduling your appointments on the days that correspond to your vaccination status, as detailed above.
  4. Please note: when you arrive for your appointment, you must be prepared to login to Aura and bring up your appointment QR code on your phone or other device. The QR code is found by choosing the option Scan from the menu. (Please do not worry if it says "not compliant" and is red).
