Directions

Getting to campus

Directions are available through the College's visitors page or through Google Maps. The Science Center is closest to the north entrance, at Whittier Place and Elm Ave. The parking lot just east of the science center is free and usually has spaces for visitors.

The Peter van de Kamp Observatory is also located in the Science Center. The Dupont Parking lot has free visitor spaces.

Finding the department on campus

The department is inside the Science Center, a horseshoe-shaped building. It is in the southeast side of the horseshoe, on the same side as the Cornell Science Library and Science Center Cafe. There are offices and classrooms on both floor 1 and floor 0.

Finding the colloquium room

Cunniff Hall, also known as Science Center (SC) room 199, is not in the Physics Department but rather is on the other side of the Science Center, near the Chemistry Department office, and almost directly under the observatory dome (making it easy to locate from outside the Science Center). In fact, to find your way to Cunniff Hall, you can follow these directions to the observatory and at the last step, you'll find the room directly opposite the elevator, on the first floor.
