We can answer basic inquiries about our collections. If you have a targeted question, we can provide up to one hour of research time. We do not have the capacity to conduct detailed research. 

Please do feel encouraged to email us with your questions. We are best able to provide help if you write the question yourself; generative AI often misrepresents our collections, which makes us unable to respond appropriately to your request.

If you would like someone to conduct further research for you within our collections, local independent researchers who have access to our scanning equipment are available for hire. Please email peacecollection@swarthmore.edu, and we will send you their contact information so that you can discuss hiring directly with them.

• We are able to provide scans of up to 100 pages per patron per year free of charge for researchers that are unable to visit in person. One hundred pages is typically around one to two folders. If you would like this option, please email peacecollection@swarthmore.edu. Please cite the specific item(s) you would like to have digitized from our finding aids database, including the collection name, box number, and folder title if known.

Moore Research Fellowship: The Margaret W. Moore and John M. Moore Research Fellowship provides a research stipend to promote research that uses the resources of the Friends Historical Library and/or the Swarthmore College Peace Collection.

Fellowship for Student Researchers: The Moore Student Fellowship supports research by Swarthmore students on a topic of their choice in the College Archives, Friends Historical Library, and/or the Peace Collection.
