Off-Campus Study Support

Swarthmore's libraries can support you while away from campus:
- Digital books and more: You can access digital books, articles, streaming video, JSTOR, and other library resources through Tripod. Sign in to the proxy server for Off Campus Access or use VPN.
- Request PDFs: If you can't find what you need in Tripod (or through your host institution's library), you can request PDFs of articles and book chapters through Borrowing Beyond TriCo.
- Print books: We can’t ship books to you abroad, but you may be able to take a small number of library books with you. Before you leave, stop by one of the libraries and ask at the front desk or email Access & Lending.
- Research Help: Swarthmore's librarians and RIAs can help you find sources and build research skills. Connect with us through chat, Zoom, or email.
- Language learning: Need a refresher on a particular language? Mango Languages offers useful tutorials for real-life situations and actual conversations.
We also hope you’ll take some time to explore the libraries where you’re studying. Visiting the local libraries at your host institution can be a valuable part of your off-campus experience. Feel free to ask Swarthmore’s librarians for help finding your way.
