Reimagining Cunningham Fields as Cunningham Park reflects the College's commitment to health and well-being, to facilities that serve our community, and to being a good neighbor in the Borough of Swarthmore. The project's goals are to:

  • Enrich the experience of students and the wider community, creating spaces that support and improve everyday recreation, club and intramural play, and competitive athletics;
  • Expand opportunities for well-being and recreation for students, faculty, staff, and our neighbors in Swarthmore;
  • Steward the park's natural setting by conserving water and other resources, reducing reliance on chemical fertilizers and pesticides, and choosing materials with their full life cycle in mind;
  • Listen to our neighbors throughout planning and design, incorporating community feedback as the project evolves; and
  • Put safety, sustainability, and community at the center of every decision we make.
